SURVIVOR OF FLASH FLOODS Carlsbad Caverns National Park NM 8/20/2022

I woke up this morning to a local News Report on several families stranded by flash floods at Carlsbad Caverns National Park in our state of New Mexico. One family who was interviewed has a daughter with a heart condition and they didn't bring her medication for their day trip to the caves. One meal provided to them and others but they were charged for the meals. And not enough meals for all who are stranded so some went hungry. There currently is no time frame for when they will be able to leave or when more food or medicine can arrive.

I felt compelled to Share this information out to try to help those out who are still stranded, especially the little girl in need of her medication. They need to evacuate her with a helicopter!

Narrowly escaped death capturing this footage. This flash flood came out of nowhere and almost took me head on. People are still trapped up top at this moment, hours later, and the river that came from this is still flowing hard.
The flood waters crossed the road multiple times on the way down. They're going to have to get heavy machinery to clear the road before anyone can come back down tonight..or maybe tomorrow depending on how bad it is. Roads may have been washed away...

I was the last one out of the park, that isn't still trapped up top, and so I could go at my own speed and capture this for all to see.

A close call many times.... but I'm safe.
